This August, twenty World War II veterans representing the Army, Army Air Corps, Marines, Navy, and Coast Guard will journey to Pearl Harbor to commemorate the 66th anniversary of Victory in the Pacific, September 2, 1945. Accompanying the veterans will be the University of Hawaii Army and Air Force ROTC cadets who will document, preserve, and pass along each veteran’s story in order to deepen their understanding of the extraordinary war-time sacrifices and noble accomplishments made in defense of liberty

The World War II veterans will be honored at the international “End of the War in the Pacific” commemoration ceremony aboard the Battleship Missouri and visit the USS Arizona Memorial as well as the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific to pay tribute those who perished in WWII.

Every day, we will post daily events and photographs. Follow us on our journey.
